Senior Site Engineer

We have a new vacancy for a Senior Site Engineer within our commercial team. Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager you will be responsible for managing the setting out of all civil engineering, to include groundworks and structure packages on residential schemes, ensuring the  successful setting-out of the site and dimensional controls in accordance with the relevant contract Drawings, Specification and Site Surveys. 

The successful candidate will oversee the installation of specialist sub-contractor works including groundworks, frames and masonry.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring accurate setting out and levelling of the work in accordance with the drawings/specifications.
  • Ensuring that all relevant tolerances have been catered for without compromising design.
  • In collaboration with the Site Manager and/or other relevant supervisors,  review construction outputs and plan the most efficient sequence of operations with an emphasis on control of the works, quality and technical advice.
  • Ensuring all drawings and information relating to the particular site are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Ensuring that the Sub-contractors are using the latest version of the contract record drawings & specifications, whilst ensuring that they are technically coordinated.
  • Ensuring quality control and testing of work and materials is carried out in accordance with the specification requirements.
  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the Construction Programme.
  • Plan work and efficiently organise site facilities in order to meet agreed project deadlines.
  • Carry out checks on works prior to and following any concrete pours.
  • Liaise with local authorities as appropriate or when instructed to ensure compliance with local construction regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of own activity related to sites to enable traceability.
  • Quality control and record keeping in accordance with procedural method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans which have been prepared by the Commercial management team and by subcontractors

Essential Criteria:
*A minimum of 5 years experience as a Site Engineer
*Experience with AutoCAD, Totalstation and GPS
*Experience of preparing legal transfer maps for land registry
*Self Motivated, with proven time management skills
*Valid CSR Card
*Proven strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with subcontractors and staff 

Desirable Criteria:
Degree in Civil Engineering
